HANNAH AND HER SISTERS

 

A 1986 American comedy-drama written & directed by Woody Allen. It tells the intertwined stories of an extended family over two years that begins and ends with a family Thanksgiving dinner.

 

Brimming with laughter, tears & subtle beauty. Hannah the eldest daughter of show biz parents seems to have everything going for her including two aimless sisters.  

 

When Hannah’s perfect world is quietly sabotaged by sibling rivalry. In order to find herself, she’ll have to choose – between the independence her family can’t live with ……and the family she can’t live without.

 

Woody Allen stars in the film, along with Mia Farrow, Michael Caine, Barbara Hershey and Dianne West. Alongside them the film features a large ensemble cast. The film won 4 Academy Awards. It is often considered one of Allen’s major works, with critics continuing to praise its writing and choice of cast.

The Holdovers

The Holdovers 2023 US comedy drama A cranky history teacher at a prep school is forced to remain on campus over the holidays with a grieving cook and a troubled student who has no place to go.

 

Starring Paul Giamatti, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Dominic Sessa.  

 

The film was named one of the top 10 films of 2023 Accolades: Randolph won the Best Supporting Actress for Golden Globe Awards and BAFTA The Holdovers has also received five nominations at the 96th Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
